Candymaker Job Description

The Candymaker is responsible for creating and producing candy products in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking (especially making candy) and a strong understanding of the good manufacturing processes in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with company leadership, produce high quality handcrafted products including but not limited to marshmallows, fruit pates, marshmallow based treats
  • Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes
  • Mix and cook ingredients to create candy products
  • Pour, mold, and cut candy products
  • Package candy products for retail and wholesale customers
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations. ServSafe certification preferred
  • Maintain inventory of ingredients to ensure orders are made in a timely manner
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest candy-making trends

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of cooking experience in commercial kitchen setting
  • Knowledge of candy making techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good sense of humor

About Us

48 Blocks Fine Candy is a woman-owned gourmet candy company based in Falls Church, VA. We are best known for handcrafted traditional marshmallows in non-traditional flavors, marshmallow-based confections and fruit patés.

Location

This position requires in-person work at our manufacturing facility in Falls Church, VA up to four days a week. Additional days/hours may be required during peak production season.
